I am about to take my A-levels and am thinking of taking a ga year. With any uck I'll be studying History of film at uni. I want to take a gap year and work on set maybe as a runner or something soo I can learn the trade. Is there anything I can do? a website or phone number I could call? an agency of some description?

Good luck with that....you need it. I'm 25 and thought I was finally "in" when I worked on some big films in London as camera trainee. It's tough trying to keep up the continuity of it all...I haven't worked on anything in months! It's also surprising how small the industry is, once you're on the set you see how everyone is connected.
